![]() On this picture, I drew a red line showing the outline of the installed bracket (mostly hidden above the bumper cover) and I also drew a blue line showing where the license plate light still shines down on the license plate from behind the bracket. ![]() Third picture shows the bracket and camera installed. After that, I sanded it and sprayed the bracket flat black (2 coats). The two 1/4" outside holes (for mounting the bracket to the car) are drilled and the two inside holes (for mounting the camera to the bracket) are tapped to 8-32 thread. Second picture shows the bracket cut to the shape I wanted. I cut off the length I needed, drew the cut and drill marks on the metal, then worked it until it was the shape I wanted. It started out as 1.5" wide X 3 feet long and is 1/8" thick. The pictures show some of the stages of the bracket manufacture and install.įirst picture is a diagram of the bracket. I wanted something that was hidden as much as possible, so I made the bracket that holds the camera since I couldn't find anything already made. I recently finished installing a backup camera in my 2011 Challenger.
